Buildings Bulletin 2011-012
It is ok to use NYC (150 degree) for smoke control wiring. No conduit required (code currently says that it is).
Buildings Bulletin 2011-013
DOB and FDNY release on leaky coax cable for fire fighter communication.
Note: Read the bulletin if you are considering it. Basically it says you do not need ANY phones if you use leaky cable. As we all know, that’s a problem when you have fire wardens in a high-rise building in NYC. The exception in the code is for the entire section, not just for stair phones. Have caution if you're not planning to have a lobby phone, the FDNY may require one.
